About Us
Our Radical Mission
Creating safe homes and strong families through community-based programming and meaningful relationships with others, creates a safer and stronger community.
Our Cohorts
At Radical Life we work with our families to build stable & successful homes. We reduce poverty, decrease toxic stress, and reduce the need for foster care in Lyon County. Each Cohort has up to 15 families.
Our 5th Cohort started in January 2024, and will graduate in July 2024. Cohort 6 interviews begin in July 2024!
How Radical Life Began
Chad & Lindsay Smith, foster parents for over 9 years, founded Radical Life to address the challenges faced by children in foster care. Their journey, fueled by a desire to prevent unnecessary placement, revealed poverty as a primary factor. Radical Life aims to keep children out of state systems by fostering community support and employing evidence-based strategies. Through two and a half years of research and collaboration, Radical Life was launched in 2021, driven by a mission to empower families and tackle poverty head-on. Committed to proactive solutions, Radical Life strives to create a supportive environment where all family members can thrive.
